Charles Edward Putze, Jr., of 452 Southland Drive, Danville, VA passed away on May 8, 2016. Born in Richmond, VA on August 19, 1928, son of Charles E. Putze and Bertha Bragg Putze, both deceased. Charles was married to Nancy Crowder Walker Putze, in 1959, who passed away September 2014. His first wife Peggy Sigmon Putze passed away in 1955. He is survived by a son, Michael E. Putze and wife, Leslie of Spartanburg, SC; and stepson, Charles Alan Walker of Danville; step-grandchildren Kevin Alan Walker and wife, Melissa of Raleigh, NC; David Rogers and wife, Marion of Buffton, SC; a sister Norma Jo Powell and husband, Ray of Riner, VA; sister-in-law Claudette Putze of Franklin, VA; brother Dr. Robert L. Putze who passed away in 2015. He was a member of Shelton Memorial Presbyterian Church, past member of German Club, Young Men’s Club, Exchange Club, Danville Golf Club and Virginia National Guard where he served active duty during Korean War and as an officer in Army Reserve. A graveside service will be held Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 2pm at Mountain View Cemetery with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating.
