Cecil Brann "Pops" Ragans Cecil Brann "Pops" Ragans went to meet his maker on November 2, 2012, after losing his battle with a long illness. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy W. Ragans, two sons, Timothy E. Ragans and his wife, Tracy, Robert M. Ragans and his wife, Rhonda, a daughter, Christina Ragans Dowd, seven grandchildren, a brother, Mark Ragans, two sisters, Maggie Chandler and Virginia Rolfe, and a half-brother, David Ragans. "Pops" served in the U. S. Army and Virginia National Guard for a number of years. He taught welding at Bartlett Yancey High School. He owned his own trucking business and in the last few years he could be found at his son's auto shop, Ragans' Services. He was best known for his love of talking, he never met a stranger. He will be missed by all his family and friends. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM and at other times at the residence, 1336 Pumpkin Creek Lane. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka Kansas 66675. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Ragans family.
