Carolyn Joyce McFarling Blair, of 101 Naples Street, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2022.
Carolyn was born on February 22, 1936, a daughter of the late Harry Montgomery McFarling, Sr. and the late Shirley Whitler McFarling.
Carolyn was educated in the Danville Public Schools and worked at Johnson Department Store while still a student. She was employed at Dan River Inc. for 21 years as an executive secretary. After selling real estate for Brincefield Realtors for 4 years, she returned to Dan River Inc. working in the industrial engineering department and the cost estimating department for 20 years, retiring as an IE/Cost Accountant in 2001.
On August 9, 1965, she married Eugene Addison Blair, who predeceased her on July 24, 2009.
Carolyn was in fellowship at the Danville Bible Chapel.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brothers, Harry McFarling, Jr., and Tommy McFarling, sisters, Helen McFarling Adams, Janie McFarling Wilson, and Shirley McFarling Nance, and sister-in-law, Doris McFarling.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. Carroll and her husband Ray Henderson Carroll, Jr., grandchildren, Jonathan G. Carroll (Teresa), Jason C. Carroll (Diane), and Amy C. Fish (Jack), Nine Great-Grandchildren, Paul, Heather, Alexandria, Julianna and Olivia Carroll, and Megan, Hannah, Reagan, and Rebekah Fish, Seven Great-Great-Grandchildren, two sisters, Linda M. Gover (Skip), and Martha M. Athey, 16 nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Ann Marie Fowler.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Townes Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Andy Burgess officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 PM at Townes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Danville Bible Chapel and the Danville Life Saving Crew.
