Bruce Hogan

June 12, 1926 — December 14, 2015

Bruce William Hogan, 89, formerly of Westmore Drive, died Monday, December 14, 2015 at Roman Eagle Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  Mr. Hogan was born in Danville on December 6, 1926 to the late Bruce Dennis Hogan and Elizabeth Adams Hogan.  He attended school in Danville and was a graduate of Danville Technical Institute. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific. He was married to Velma Fay Dillard, who preceded him in death on August 20, 1999. He retired from City of Danville Electric Department in 1990.  Mr. Hogan is survived by his daughter, Pamela Stowe and husband Melvin; a sister, Margaret Lucas; a granddaughter, Brandi Talley and husband Kevin; and a grandson, Adam Stowe and wife Sherrie. He is also survived by two nieces, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great child.  A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Schoolfield Cemetery with Reverend Eddie Hite officiating. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 to 1:30 pm prior to the service and other times at the daughter's residence, 777 Walnut Creek Road.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to State Line Baptist Church Building Fund, 651 Holland Rd, Danville, VA 24541. Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street, is respectfully serving the Hogan family.
