Bobbie Lee Bradshaw Hudson passed away January 17, 2023, at Roman Eagle Health Care following an extended illness.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert L. Bradshaw, and Dora Jones Bradshaw. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bruce Hudson, and her sister Linda Bradshaw Seidle of Charlotte, and her feline companion Katy, numerous cousins and nine nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Nancy Wilson (Edward) of Charlotte, and brother-in-law Roland (Joan) of Cocoa, Florida.
Bobbie was born in Danville on December 5, 1948, and attended Bartlett Yancey High School, Averett College, and Radford College. She graduated with dual degrees in English and Library Science. Bobbie was an educator for 37 years, first at Gretna High School, then in Danville Public Schools. She was active member of the Republican Party, serving as secretary of the Danville unit as well as the Fifth District Republican Party.
Bobbie was active in the Pilot Club of Danville, as well as Pilot International, of which she was International President in 2006-07. She treasured her fellow Pilots. She also was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Library of Virginia by Governor George Allen and served two five-year terms, including one year as chairman.
A memorial service for Bobbie will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Townes Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Joe Northen officiating. The family will receive friends prior from 12:30-1:30 PM in the chapel.
Bobbie was known for her outgoing personality and fun-loving ways. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
