Bessie White

Bessie Bailey White, 83, of Danville, wife of Lonnie Leroy White, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Born on October 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late George Daniel and Hester Strader Bailey. Bessie worked at J.C. Penney for over 30 years where she enjoyed conversations with everyone she met. She loved to spend time at the beach and attending ball games. Often times you could see Bessie on a dance floor, where she loved to dance. She was a member of the former Southall Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Leroy; a son, Brian Keith White, and wife, Donna; and two grandchildren, Daniel Keith and Anna Grace White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James “J.D.” Bailey. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens.
