Bessie Bailey

Bessie Mae Freeman Bailey, 83, resident of Commonwealth Senior Living at Stratford House, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Born on January 4, 1935 in Startex, SC, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Jackson Freeman and Bertie Williams Freeman. In 1950, Bessie married John Mason Bailey who precedes her in death. She was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her three sons, John Bailey, and wife, Vickie, Jerry Bailey, and wife, Carlene, and Dennis Bailey, and wife, Laurie; seven grandchildren, Matt, Cameron, Rachel, Erin, Ward, Austin and James; and four great-grandchildren, Sadie, Berkley, Hope and Ella. A visitation will be held at Townes Funeral Home on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Highland Burial Park on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
