Barton passed away on January 8, 2023. He was the only son born to Walter & Hazel Hollie. Bart has one sister Natalie Hollie of Dry Fork, Virginia. From the very beginning of his life, he was spoiled by his Daddy, Mama, Nana & Natalie. Later in his life he gained a niece Hollie who he loved to spend time with and she married Jeremey Imus who was one of Bart's favorite friends. He was excited to be blessed with three great nieces Olivia, Natasha & Nikole. He also enjoyed his visits from his niece Emily Brandon & great niece Jules.
Bart grew up on Oak Ridge in the Schoolfield Community. He will always be remembered as walking to the neighbors' houses and making lifelong friendships. He never met a stranger and loved sharing laughs and stories with everyone he met. Bart loved his family and always wanted one of them in his sight. To label Bart as having a disability is something he would describe in detail while letting you know that you had the same thing as he did! He was by far a man who could make you laugh & not feel he was slighted from his disability. Bart loved special parties for numerous unique events and would recite a list of certain foods that must be prepared for the celebrations. He loved hot dogs, ice cream, iced tea and any dish that Nannie-Natalie prepared for him. Bart was like a burst of energy & could always make you laugh.
His life was different in many ways but on the same hand it was what we all dream of which is to be loved and cared for. Bart had some incredibly dedicated caregivers starting with his Mama, Nannie-who was Natalie, Jimmy, Hollie & Jeremey Imus, most recently his Great Niece Olivia & his friend Zack Parker.
When Bart took his last breath and was welcomed to walk through the pearly gates of Heaven his body was restored totally. He was met by our Lord Jesus Christ, His Daddy & Mama, Nana and other loved ones. Bart’s body has been renewed and he will never hurt again, not be labeled as having a disability and is walking on streets of gold.

If you cannot talk, I will be your voice. If you cannot stand, I will support you. If you cannot walk, I will carry you. I am here for you and I will stay with you through it all.” That's just what his family did, and it's what so many families do for their loved ones every day.
