Barbara Hendrickson

Barbara Joyce Johnson Hendrickson passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at her home.    She was born in Geneva County, Alabama, on August 25, 1938, and was predeceased by her parents Robbie Harris and Othar Leon Johnson; sisters Hazel Howell and Mary Veazy; and brother Harry Johnson.    She is survived by her husband Mike Kelsey Hendrickson of the home; children Mike Kelsey Jr. and Lori Hendrickson of Raleigh, NC, Dr. Steven Craig and Terri Hendrickson of Greensboro, NC; and granddaughters Kelsey Butler and her husband Bill of Charlotte, NC, Kristin Hendrickson of Charlotte, NC, Cameron Hendrickson of Greensboro, NC, and Isabella Hendrickson of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are her beloved in-laws Nancy and Bob Vandergriff of Knoxville, TN, Jerry and Frankie Hendrickson of Macon, Georgia, Trudy and Dan Swicegood of Knoxville, TN; and a number of loved nieces and nephews.    Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church for over 40 years and was involved with many church activities and faithfully served on many committees. She served on the boards of The Wednesday Club, the Gabriella Garden Club, and the Danville Council of Garden Clubs. She had many hobbies and interests, but enjoyed her family most of all. She loved and was loved by many and will be dearly missed.    The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church on Monday, August 13, 2018, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM, at the church with the Reverend John Carroll officiating.
