Annie Brumfield Hudson, of 114 Wheatley Road, died on June 17, 2017, at Danville Regional Medical Center at the age of 95 years. Mrs. Hudson was born on December 2, 1921 in Danville, Virginia, a daughter of the late Beverly C. Brumfield and Pocahontas Grant Brumfield. She was married to John David Hudson, Sr., who predeceased her in 2004. She was an active and supporting member of Grace Design United Methodist Church for many years. She loved her church and its people. Like her mother, Annie played the violin. She was an avid golfer beyond the age of 90 and especially enjoyed fellowship with many other golfers. Her weekly participation in bridge with other ladies was also something she appreciated. She demonstrated faithful, unconditional love and a wonderful sense of humor for her entire family and wide circle of friends. While we all will miss her dearly, we have many, many happy memories and laughs to relive. The family wishes to thank her thoughtful Wheatley Road neighbors, and the medical professionals that treated her and Angel Wings Home Care for their compassionate services. Surviving are her son, John D. Hudson, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Danville; her daughter, Martha H. Kreszock and her husband, Mick, of Boone, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Clarice B. Price of Danville; four grandsons, Andrew Christopher Hudson and John D. Hudson III, both of Danville, Charles “Buddy” Cooke and his wife, Mary Beth, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Greg Hudson and his wife, Alison, of Charlotte, N.C.; and one great granddaughter, CharlieMae Cooke, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 20, at 2:00 p.m. from Grace Design United Methodist Church by the Rev. Winston Crichlow. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service and at other times will be at the residence at 114 Wheatley Road. The family respectfully suggests that memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
