Annie Laurie Gunn Carroll

Annie Laurie Gunn Carroll, 90, of Providence, NC went home to be with Jesus on March 24, 2025.

She was born on February 26, 1935, to the late Bedford Allen Gunn and Annie Lou Hodges Hanks.

She married Sidney Irvin Carroll on August 9, 1953, and they have 3 children.

Annie Laurie was the epitome of southern hospitality. In her presence you were always well fed and well loved. She had a home remedy for any ailment, and loving encouragement always at the ready, often with a side of mischief and a contagious laugh. She served her family, her church, and her community faithfully. She would be quick to tell you that her love and compassion was an overflow from her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Irvin, and their children- Carlton Carroll (Nan), Gary Carroll (Sherry), and Cindy Stanfield; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son-in-law, Tom Stanfield.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, March 27 at 11:00 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church. The family will be available to visit after the service.
