Anne Willard Dodson Williams, 91, passed on to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 23, 2022. She had been residing at the Roman Eagle Nursing Home in Danville, Virginia. Born on November 21, 1930, in Danville, Anne was the daughter of the late Cephas Willard Dodson and Anice Clarke Adams Dodson. She attended Mary Washington University before she married the late Charles Bruce Williams, Jr., DDS, to whom she was married for 62 years until his death in 2013. She was a loving wife and mother, dutiful citizen, and responsible member of the community. For 60 years, she was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. She volunteered in many organizations and community events and enjoyed hosting and entertaining friends and family, reading, playing the organ, traveling in the US and abroad, and hooking rugs with friends. She is survived by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Dodson Randall of Midlothian, VA; and children, Charles Bruce Williams, III (Marsha) of Castle Hayne, NC; Lynn Williams Horchak of Covington, NC; and Willard Dodson Williams (Teresa) of Covington, NC; a granddaughter, Brittany Horchak Zagurski (Preston) of South Chesterfield, Virginia, and one great-grandson. She also leaves behind much loved nieces, a nephew, cousins and friends. The family would especially like to thank Bessie Price Waller for her deep devotion and loving care during the last years of Anne’s life. Anne donated her remains to the Virginia State Anatomical Program.
