Anna Hayden

Mrs. Anna Owen Hayden of Danville, Va. passed away on April 20, 2019.      She was born in Pittsylvania County, Va. on February 26, 1921 a daughter of the late James T. Owen and Georgianna Crane Owen.  She was married to Johnson “Jack” Hayden who predeceased her on September 15, 1998.       Mrs. Hayden is survived by her daughter, Alice Tucker.  She was predeceased by six sisters, Minnie O. Murphy, Viola O. Shelton, Selma O. Murphy, Ruby O. Oakes, Janie O. Shields and Irene O. Yeatts; and five brothers, Elgin Owen, John Owen, Spurgeon Owen, Eddie Owen and Richard Owen.      Mrs. Hayden graduated from Spring Garden High School in 1938 and lived most of her life in Pittsylvania County.  She was a member of Mount View Holiness Church and had always been active in church work serving as pianist, vocalist, Sunday School teacher and a variety of other positions.      A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Joey Yeatts officiating.
