Ann Green Walton, 90, passed away Friday evening, March 22, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 21, 1928 in Danville, a daughter of the late Howard Peyton Green, Sr. and Alma Wells Green. Ann was a graduate of Agnes Scott College and received her training as a Medical Technician at Duke University. She was employed with the medical office of Dr. Asa Viccellio at the Dan River Clinic. Ann was a member of First Baptist Church, the Women’s missionary Union (WMU), Ladies Benevolent Society, American Red Cross and The Wednesday Club. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Thompson “Jack” Walton, Jr. of the residence; two daughters, Sally Walton Stanley (Paul) and Jackie Walton Pleasant (Terry) all of Danville; two sisters, Barbara G. Harrison (Courtenay) of Virginia Beach, and Gayle G. Miller (Joe) of Danville; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Howard Peyton Green, Jr. and a sister, Elizabeth G. Robertson. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Ryan Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM and at other times at the residence.
