Anita Jean Wyatt, 81, of Danville, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 18, 2019 in Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry V. Wyatt Sr., her mother, Edith H. Wyatt, and her brother, Harry V. Wyatt Jr. Anita is survived by her sister-in-law; Sue Wyatt, niece; Melissa Wyatt Lynch (William), and great-nieces; Austin Lynn, Ashley Anne, Arryn Wyatt all of Richmond. Ms. Wyatt had a strong desire for continued education. She attained four Business & Technology degrees from Danville Community College as well as earning her Masters in Business Administration from Averett University. She took great pride in serving on the DCC Alumni Council and the Averett University Alumni Board giving expertise to both organizations and their initiatives. Anita was named DCC Outstanding Alumni in 2013 and the 2018 recipient of the Chancellor’s Leadership in Philanthropy Award. Since early childhood, Anita held a passion for music, playing piano and later taking interest in the organ. She practiced daily with lessons, up until her passing. Anita’s funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11 am at Townes Memorial Chapel, 215 W. Main St., Danville VA. 24541. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Anita J. Wyatt Scholarship, DCC Educational Foundation, 1008 S. Main Street, Danville VA 24541
