Allen Wayne King Sr., age 51, passed away peacefully at his home in Eden, NC, on August 5th, 2024. Born on October 17th, 1972, Allen was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend whose legacy of love, hard work, and dedication will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Allen was the son of Morgan Wayne King and Brenda Louise King (Williams). He was raised in a family that valued the bonds of kinship and the joys of life's most valuable & simple pleasures. Allen graduated from Prince Edward County High School in 1991 and soon after pursued his passion for the open road by attending Allied Trucking School in Wytheville, VA, where he graduated in
1994. Known on the CB radio as "Earlybird,"
Allen found freedom and fulfillment in his career as a truck driver, a profession that became not just his work but his passion.
Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Louise King, and his grandparents, Walter Thomas King. Lillie Mae Booth Waycaster, James Williams, and Margaret Williams, in-laws. John Morey In. Joanne Morey, and Jason Morey.
He also joins his niece, Janet Mae Driver, in eternal rest.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Marie King (10.20.96), who stood by his side through life's many journeys over the past 28 years. Together, they raised a family that was the center of Allen's world. He was a devoted father to Mikey Allord, Melissa King, Allen King Jr., Jessica (Andrew) Perry, Robert King, Randy King, and Ricky King, and a grandfather to Amelia Perry, whom he affectionately called, "MeMe" & Kelsi Greene.
Allen's siblings-Kevin (Cristy) King, Daryl King, Melissa (Johnny) Harvey, Michael (Angie) King, and Chris (Sibyl) King-will forever remember their brother for his unwavering support, infectious laugh, and the countless memories they shared.
Outside of his work, Allen found joy in the great outdoors.
He was a man of quiet strength, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a word of encouragement, or share the hope that sustained him. His strong commitment to follow Christ showed in his relationships, his work, and his everyday actions. Allen's life was a living example of what it means to walk in faith, and his legacy will be one of enduring love, compassion, and faithfulness. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his kindness, generosity, and love for life.
