Ailene Jones Stone, 90, of 2100 Brandermill Parkway, Midlothian, Virginia, passed away after being in declining health for the past three months on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Ailene was born on December 6, 1927, in Danville, Virginia. She was the daughter of Harley Roscoe Jones and Elsie Brown Jones. Ailene was a faithful member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church all her life. She worked for the City of Danville and as a school secretary for the Danville Public School System. Ailene loved her Lord and her family. She had many friends in her church. She had a special love for the members of her Sunday School Class. She was the epitome of a southern woman. Ailene is predeceased by the love of her life, Billy G. Stone. She has two loving daughters, Paula Thomas, and her husband Jim of Talbott, Tennessee and Ellen McGuire, and her husband Griffin, of Richmond, Virginia. Ailene has four grandchildren, Jed Thomas and his wife Corie, Ginny Howe and her husband T.J., Katie Ranallo and her husband Phillip, and Mitchell McGuire and his finance Rose Trinity. Ailene has four great grandchildren: Grace Ranallo, Finley and Carter Howe and Claire Thomas. Graveside rites will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24th at Highland Burial Park, Danville, Virginia. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place.
